To continue Assad's (Manu) legacy based on his pure heart and soul and to raise awareness for cancer

Our Beginning

Our Story

From an early age, Assad carried a natural warmth, sincerity, and kindness that drew people towards him. He had a rare ability to make others feel seen, valued, and at ease — qualities that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

After his passing on 23rd March 2026, his family and friends came together to ensure that the values he embodied would continue to make a difference in the world. The foundation carries forward his spirit through charitable projects that reflect who he was — a man of pure heart and beautiful soul.

Remembering Manu

Who Was Assad Ahmed?

Assad Ahmed, lovingly known to all as Manu, was born on 27th March 1996 and raised in Rotherham, UK, alongside his devoted mother and sister. From an early age, Assad carried a natural warmth, sincerity, and kindness that drew people towards him. He had a rare ability to make others feel seen, valued, and at ease — qualities that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Assad was intelligent, driven, and deeply committed to building a meaningful life. He graduated with a Bachelor of Honours in Biomedical Science from Leeds Beckett University and went on to establish a successful career as a Procurement Manager within UK Civil Service organisations. His dedication to personal and professional growth was reflected in his achievement of Level 4 CIPS — just one example of his ambition and determination.

Outside of his career, Assad embraced life wholeheartedly. He was passionate about football and boxing, and he found true happiness in travelling the world with his closest friends. From Europe to the Middle East and the United States, he created memories filled with laughter, connection, and adventure. He was a young man with boundless dreams, excited for the many experiences still ahead of him.

His Strength, His Journey

Assad's life took an unexpected and deeply challenging turn when he was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer affecting the bile ducts.

Despite the immense difficulty of his illness, Assad faced it with remarkable strength, patience, and dignity. During this time, he underwent chemotherapy, yet chose to keep much of his struggle private. In his selflessness, he did not want others to worry or feel burdened by what he was going through. Instead, he continued to show the same kindness, humour, and care for others that had always defined him.

Throughout his journey, Assad remained grounded in his faith and surrounded by love. Even during his most difficult moments, his concern for others never faded — a true reflection of his character.

Assad passed away peacefully at home, with his beloved sister by his side, holding his hand. His passing was gentle and surrounded by love, just as he had lived his life.

One of their final conversations together captured the quiet strength that defined him. Struggling for breath, his sister gently asked him:

Asha: "What's your name?"

Assad: "Assad."

Asha: "What does it mean?"

Assad: "Lion."

The name Assad, meaning lion, perfectly reflected the courage and strength with which he faced every challenge in his life.

A Life That Continues to Inspire

Assad was a young man ready to conquer the world. His life was full of promise, purpose, and adventure, and although it was tragically cut short, his impact continues to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Through his faith, we take comfort in knowing that this is not the end of his journey. We believe that his story continues beyond this life — filled with peace, light, and endless possibility.

Our Purpose

Our Mission in His Name

In honour of Assad's life, strength, and compassion, we have established this foundation to continue the good he brought into the world. Through this work, we hope to create meaningful change by:

  • Raising awareness of rare and aggressive cancers.
  • Supporting individuals and families who are facing similar battles.
  • Contributing to research and improved care for those affected by rare diseases.
  • Keeping Assad's legacy alive by continuing the kindness, generosity, and connection that defined his life.

Through these efforts, we hope that Assad's spirit will continue to inspire, support, and bring people together — just as he did throughout his life.
